Mike’s work consists of colorful and vibrant cityscapes and landscapes, often bending and twisting the perspective in his compositions. “ I strive to capture in my compositions, the pulse or vibe one experiences within the urban areas, with its flashing lights, sirens, car horns and the beautiful noise of city-life.” Mike’s work has also been used in Pilot Food Mart Billboards across the Knoxville and surrounding areas. In 2010, The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra commissioned Mike to create a painting to celebrate the Symphony’s 75th anniversary and prints are now available through the KSO. Mike’s painting “Gay Street Bridge” is the cover art for Jack Neely’s new book; Knoxville, This Obscure and Prismatic City. Also his work is being featured daily on a blog called “Postcards from Knoxville” (http://mikecberry.blogspot.com  Recently, The Knoxville News Sentinel Readers Poll voted  Mike C. Berry the Best Visual Artist of East Tennessee.

He is the gallery manager for the University of Tennessee’s Downtown Gallery, in Knoxville, and is an active member of the Art & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville. Mike also serves on the Public Arts Committee for Knoxville, appointed by then mayor, now Tennessee Governor, Bill Haslam.

Mike earned his Master of Fine Art from the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, GA in 1997. Mike supports many local charities with his work along with exhibiting twice a year in Knoxville group exhibitions.

His work is represented by the Scott Burton Gallery in Knoxville, TN.

His work can also be seen on display at his studio located in the Emporium Center at 100 South Gay Street, Suite 111, Knoxville, Tennessee open to the public every First Friday from 5-9pm.

Mike and his wife Leah live & work in Knoxville, Tennessee. They have one daughter, Orly.
