Lisaʼs clay pieces emphasize the malleable qualities of clay with lots of texture. She welcomes and encourages the happy accidents that occur while working in the medium. Most of her work is altered while still wet to let the intinsic beauty of the clay itself be part of her work.

An important feature of Lisaʼs pottery is its functionality. Her work is intended to be used in the home as part of daily life. The clay she uses is a sturdy white stoneware. The white clay highlights her glazes which are always evolving as her work changes. Many of Lisaʼs customers comment on the unique depth and quality of her glazes, which she mixes up herself in her own studio. Using her own glazes instead of commercial glazes adds to the one-of-a-kind quality of her work. Lisaʼs clay work has been exhibited and sold in galleries and shops across the U.S. and is shown locally at the Art Market Gallery on Gay Street in downtown Knoxville as well as in many regional juried art shows and fairs. Her work may be found in many private collections across the country as well and as far away as Lyon, France.
