Kathy Wolfe is a photographer who has been exploring the boundaries of digital printing and alternative processes for the past 7 years. Her images combine single objects digitally with multiple surfaces and textures to create striking color composites. Kathy’s subject matter centers around organic objects, using flowers, leaves, ferns and currently fish, to examine the intricacies of nature’s work.

The work is transferred onto wood using a gelatin fresco transfer technique or mounted onto metal. After the initial composite is dried, the work is added to with various combinations of gels, varnishs or beeswax to add more texture.

Kathy’s thirty year photography career includes commercial work, black and white documentary weddings and portraiture and is a 1984 graduate of The Portfolio Center. She exhibits her work in galleries and art shows around the country and has taught photography in Atlanta for the past 15 years.
