Sneed was born in Oklahoma which is where he first realized he had an interest in art…as a child he drew on every room in his family’s two-bedroom home.
JJ has been a self-taught artist for most of his art career. His paintings are filled with vivid colors and simple shapes. The end result of each painting reflects a fun whimsical style. ”Lord knows we all need some fun in our life these days and times” JJ said.
JJ’s art medium consists of Acrylic, Watercolor and Oils. He incorporates an epoxy over thick layers of paint followed by the use of a blowtorch to enhance and help each painting become a true piece of art.
His newest technique is called “Impasto,” which basically means heavy-textured. This technique has been around since the early 1800′s, and even the great Vincent Van Gogh was known to have used this technique.
