“With handmade paper each print is an original. Every image is individually matched to the changing texture, color, and fiber of the paper. This form of expression evolved from experimentation with printing on different surfaces. I discovered that handmade papers, particularly rice papers, bring a new dimension to my images.”
Jim has an BS in Art Education from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. He taught high school art and has done graduate studies at BGSU and at The New School, New York, NY. He worked as a staff photographer for the BGSU College of Liberal Arts and as a Director/Cinematographer for WDCN-TV (now WNPT) in Nashville, Tennessee. From 1975 to the present Jim has worked as a Director/Cinematographer/Director of Photography for corporate, broadcast and advertising agency clients.
In 2004, Jim refined his photography on handmade papers and began exhibiting with great success. He has received awards for photography and Best in Show and is in a growing number of galleries and private collections.
