Graduate of the University of Tennessee in Business Administration, Marketing major.
I served two tours in the service, one as an enlisted man and the second as an officer in the US Air Force. Owned and managed four businesses, including art galleries for a period of 22 years. I am currently retired.
I am basically self taught, but briefly studied with the late Walter Holly Stevens, of the University of Tennessee Art Department.
The summers of my youth were spent at the beach in Lavallette, New Jersey sailing and boating, where my passion for boating and the water was born. Later, with a home on Hilton Head Island, I maintained my connection to a love of the water. Now I spend considerable time in the Pawley’s Island, Georgetown and Charleston areas of South Carolina and paint plain air there.
My paintings have been exhibited in many national and regional juried shows and numerous local shows. Among the national shows are American Society of Marie Artists National, Coos Museum National Maritime, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society Best of America, US Coast Guard Collection and Arts and Cultural Alliance National.
Affiliations include: Salmagundi Club, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, American Society of Marie Artists, Oil Painters of America, US Coast Guard Collection and Tennessee Artists Association.
