Lower School art teacher Brad Cantrell was born in Atlanta, Ga. He grew up drawing all the time, and his friends and teachers encouraged him to pursue a career in art. Cantrell attended University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga., where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a degree in art education, K through 12. He came to East Tennessee as an assistant at the Arrowmont School for Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tenn. As a graduate student, he also ran the University Craft Center and taught pottery making to students and members of the community through the non-credit program. He received his first art-teaching job in Sevier County where he was responsible for teaching art in five schools. Three years later, Brad Cantrell joined Webb School of Knoxville’s Lower School. This year marks his 10th year at Webb.
