Her process

An idea for a painting usually comes from an emotion. It could be the feeling of total joy that I have been given a gift for art or the unparalleled beauty of nature.  I then decide what medium could be used to best express that feeling. I work with mostly oils, acrylics and pastels. Their ability to show both hard and soft textures is what I enjoy most. I build layers upon layers to create depth and pay particular attention to conveying the emotion as I work. Whether it is through the eyes of one of my angel paintings or in the layers of color and texture in an abstract, the main process is the same, keep the emotion throughout to communicate the feelings I have.
